We have been abandoned by heroes
stripped from comic book thrones
or having tripped over their own
mortal desires

What's wrong with my generation
Gee, Mommy, you tell me
it's not just Joe DiMaggio
our nation looks for anymore

Little boys and little girls
wanna grow up to be famous
home run hitting
hit single having
drug abusing
imprisoned
stars

They are the ones that have been abandoned
by heroes in their own homes
allowing commercials and consumerism
to teach them the value of love?
